For over 20 years, Horizon Well Logging has been recognized as one of the top mud logging firms in the mid-continent.  Our Mid-Continent Division has long been the firm of choice for Operators needing accurate geology and consistently high performance. Over the last few years Horizon's has also gained recognition as a top-notch geo-steering services firm that focuses not only on gamma ray interpretation but on wellsite geology and communication--the primary source of geo-steering problems.

In 2009, Horizon's mud logging and geo-steering services went national with the opening of its Eastern Division to service the rapidly expanding work in the Marcellus Shale.  In just a few months, Horizon rapidly became the "go to" firm in Appalachia.  Word quickly got around that its professional approach, innovative technology and unparalleled communication with customers was completely different than what had been offered in the northeast before.  The result:  one year later Horizon dominates Appalachia, following over 20 rigs for 14 different companies. 

In 2010, Horizon opened its Texas Division to focus on the Eagle Ford and Permian Basin areas.  This division is has achieved tremendous success and is rapidly becoming the one of the dominant firms in south Texas. 

In the fall of 2010, Horizon has expanded again with a new Rockies Division to serve the Power River, DJ and Williston basins.  We are quickly ramping up both logging and geo-steering practices in these areas out of our location in Cheyenne, Wyoming.  Horizon has brought the quality, methodology and excellence that made it the largest field geology firm in the country to assist Operators in exploiting the Niobrara and Bakken shales.   

In addition to the professionalism, quality and innovation that are common in all of our services, we bring cutting edge technology and interpretation centered around a state-of-the-art gas chromatograph for liquids rich plays.  The iBall Bloodhound is widely recognized as the superior gas chromatograph in the mud logging industry and Horizon is the largest and most experienced user of the Bloodhound technology in the world.  We have logged nearly 1,000 wells with the Bloodhound and can use it to help our customers identify areas of interest and stay in their target zones.
